RemoFrame Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 21, 2026
Overview
RemoFrame lets you control video playing in a computer browser from your phone. Remote-control commands are normally sent only on your local network. When you choose to use AI Captions, the browser extension uses cloud services to provide captions, translation, video outlines, and time-based navigation.
Information processed on your device
To pair and control computers, RemoFrame stores the following on your iPhone:
- paired computer names, system type, device identifiers, and encrypted pairing credentials;
- display preferences, including the app language;
- when enhanced browser control is available, the current video title, artwork, progress, playback state, and speed, used only to present the remote-control interface.
RemoFrame does not read or transfer video files, web browsing history, or video images.
AI Captions service
Only when you start AI Captions from the browser does the extension first read captions that are already available on the webpage. If no caption is available, it captures audio from the current browser tab after a user gesture and sends short segments to the AI service at whgojp.top for speech recognition.
The service processes audio segments, caption text, caption timestamps, and questions entered in Ask Video to return translations, summaries, key points, video outlines, and jump-to timestamps. We do not upload video files or video images. Do not use AI Captions for content you are not authorized to process.
Local network and permissions
RemoFrame uses local-network access to discover and connect to computers on the same Wi-Fi network. Pairing uses a QR code or one-time six-digit code. Pairing credentials are stored in the iPhone Keychain. Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a computer pairing QR code.
Sign in with Apple
AI enhancement, subscriptions, and cross-device entitlements use Sign in with Apple. Apple identity tokens are sent to RemoFrame only to verify the sign-in and issue a RemoFrame session. The service uses an irreversible pseudonymous identifier to associate subscriptions and AI allowance. Your name or email address, if provided by Apple, remains in this iPhone's Keychain and is not sent to RevenueCat as a subscription identifier.
Subscriptions and AI allowance
RemoFrame uses RevenueCat to process App Store subscription status, restore purchases, refund status, and AI-minute allowance. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier, App Store transaction information, subscription entitlements, and allowance changes. It does not receive the videos you watch, captions, questions, name, or email address. Apple processes payment; neither RemoFrame nor RevenueCat receives full payment-card information.
Sharing, tracking, and advertising
We do not sell personal information, use third-party advertising SDKs, track you across apps or websites, or use data for targeted advertising. When AI Captions is enabled, the relevant audio segments and caption data are sent to the RemoFrame AI service and service providers needed for speech recognition and model processing. Subscription and allowance information is processed by RevenueCat under its privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Pairing information remains on your iPhone until you remove a computer, delete your Apple account and local data from RemoFrame, or uninstall the app. Account deletion removes local Apple sign-in data and computer-pairing credentials, and requests deletion of the related RevenueCat customer record. AI Caption sessions are retained for the current video's captions and navigation and are automatically deleted 24 hours after their last update. Apple may retain App Store transaction records as required by law and finance rules.
Security
RemoFrame uses one-time pairing codes and locally stored pairing credentials to protect remote connections. Sensitive local credentials are protected by the iPhone Keychain. No internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure; please keep your devices and operating systems current.
Children
RemoFrame does not knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is required by law.
